Ryan Gosling may be Hollywood’s favorite real-life Ken doll, but at home, he’s got a to-do list that comes with his role of being a loving husband to Eva Mendes and a doting father to his two daughters.

On Sunday’s 96th annual Academy Awards, Ryan took to the stage and delivered an electrifying performance of “I’m Just Ken,” the hit track that was nominated for Best Original Song along with seven other nominations for the Barbie movie.

Ryan left the audience in awe as he belted the song in a sparkly pink suit and sunglasses. Mark Ronson and fellow Kens Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Scott Evans, and Ncuti Gatwa were also alongside him on stage during the stellar performance.

At the end of the night, Ryan was summoned to return back home by Eva Mendes, the actor’s partner of many years and mother to their two daughters, Esmeralda, 9, and Amada, 7.

Eva took to Instagram with a playful yet poignant reminder of the real-world responsibilities that even Ken cannot escape. With her donning a pink blazer and a black cowboy hat, Eva’s post appeared to be a loving nudge to Ryan with the caption, “You took Ken all the way to the Oscar’s, RG. Now come home, we need to put the kids to bed.”

Fans were delighted to see the endearing moment on Instagram.

“You two are the COOLEST…truly,” one fan said, while another added, “You’re the biggest winner of the night tbh!”

“Now come home, we need to put the kids to bed,” Eva Mendes wrote on Instagram

“Yep that’s right girl, Family first,” another wrote.

Eva’s post was flooded with comments praising Ryan for his thrilling performance of “I’m just Ken.”

One fan gushed, “He killed it! you can feel the kenergy thru the tv screen.”

“His musical performance was the highlight of the show,” said another comment.

A third said, “Absolutely brought the house down! Love your love.”

For all the Kenergy Ryan brought onscreen in the Barbie film, he was nominated for the role of Best Supporting Actor at the 2024 Oscars. But the award went to Robert Downey Jr. for his widely acclaimed performance in Oppenheimer.

Eva also posted the below reel on the day of the 2024 Oscars award show, saying, “Always by my man.”

Hollywood’s glitziest night delivered its usual cocktail of shimmering gowns, tearful speeches, and, of course, unexpected faux pas moments when least expected.

One particular faux pas moment took place as Emma Stone experienced a wardrobe malfunction just before accepting her Best Actress Oscar.

“My dress is broken,” Emma told the world as she bagged the award for Best Actress for her role in ‘Poor Things.’

Emma, who wore a Louis Vuitton gown to the 96th Academy Awards on Sunday, was seen walking on stage with what appeared to be a broken zipper or seam at the back of her dress.

“Hoo boy, my dress is broken,” Emma Stone said as she took center stage at the Oscars 2024

Image credits: ABC News / Twitter

“Hoo boy, my dress is broken. I think it happened during ‘I’m Just Ken.’ I’m pretty sure,'” Emma said, humorously referring to Ryan Gosling’s performance of his song from the Barbie movie.

The win gave Emma her second golden statuette in the Best Actress category, seven years after she won in 2017 for her role in La La Land.

“Oh, boy, this is really, this is really overwhelming. Sorry. My voice is also a little gone … ” the actress said in her acceptance speech before she went on to mention Yorgos Lanthimos, the director of Poor Things.

The actress humorously blamed Ryan Gosling’s performance of “I’m Just Ken” for the wardrobe malfunction

“Yorgos said to me, ‘Please take yourself out of it,’ and he was right because it’s not about me. It’s about a team that came together to make something greater than the sum of its parts. And that is the best part about making movies, is all of us together. And I am so deeply honored to share this with every cast member, with every crew member, with every single person who poured their love and their care and their brilliance into the making of this film,” Emma continued.

“And Yorgos, thank you for the gift of a lifetime in Bella Baxter. I am forever thankful for you. Thank you for inviting all of us to be members of this team. Thank you,” she added.

Emma Stone made a special mention of her daughter in the emotional acceptance speech

The star went on to thank her family and especially mentioned her daughter, who “turned [their] lives technicolor.”

“I know I have to wrap up, but I really just want to thank my family, my mum, my brother Spencer, my dad, my husband Dave [McCary]. I love you so much. And most importantly, my daughter, who’s gonna be three in three days and has turned our lives technicolor. I love you bigger than the whole sky, my girl. So thank you so much,” she said in her emotional speech.

“Don’t look at the back of my dress. Thank you,” the actress humorously concluded before walking off stage.

While she was backstage, she spoke to reporters about how Ryan’s performance had her “going for it.”

“I was so amazed by Ryan and what he was doing, and that number just blew my mind,” she said.

“They sewed me back in, which was wonderful,” she added.

Margot Robbie surprised Barbie fans by wearing an all-black Versace dress to the Oscars 2024.

Fans speculated that her choice of attire might have been a silent protest against her snub for the Best Actress Oscar nomination.

The 33-year-old Australian actress played the iconic Barbie doll in Greta Gerwig’s hit 2023 movie, and since the release, she has stepped on the red carpet with gorgeous doll-inspired looks on different occasions. For instance, Margot’s outfit at the Golden Globes this year was a replica of the 1977 Superstar Barbie.

Margot Robbie has worn different Barbie-inspired looks since the hit movie’s release

Many fans anticipated Margot gracing the Oscars red carpet in an ensemble that would serve as the ultimate wink at Barbie. Alas, it was not to be. As the curtains rose on the 96th Annual Academy Awards ceremony, Margot dazzled in a black sequined Versace gown—undeniably breathtaking, yet, to some, a pivot from the Barbie aesthetic.

Fans online came up with a theory of her outfit being a “protest dress” in response to her being snubbed for a Best Actress nomination at the Oscars this year. Director Greta also did not find her name among the nominees in the Best Director category.

“Black because she was snubbed. Take a stand girlllll! Don’t give them what they want!” one person wrote on social media.

Another wrote, “I think this is dress is a protest againts the Academy … all black, no accesories, hair and make up very neutral.”

“Barbie is in grief for her non-nomination,” another said.

“She’s always beautiful. but is this a protest dress for not getting the best actress nomination?” read a fourth comment.

Some fans said the Oscars night signaled the “end of an era” for Margot’s run as Barbie

Barbie was nominated for eight awards, including Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Costume Design, and Best Original Song (with both ‘I’m Just Ken’ and ‘What Was I Made For?’ receiving nominations).

Co-stars Ryan Gosling and America Ferrera were nominated for Best Supporting Actor and Actress, respectively, for their roles of Ken and Gloria in the Barbie movie.

Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell received the Oscar for Best Original Song for their Barbie blockbuster ballad ‘What Was I Made For?’

The win made Billie and her brother the youngest people to pick up the prized golden statuettes in Academy Awards history.

It’s giving. . . method acting. Ariana Grande recently addressed her evolving ‘persona’ amidst confusion over her elocution and accusations that she spoke with a “transatlantic” accent during the Oscars, revealing her transformation for her role in Wicked.

Ariana hosted a segment at the 96th Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday (March 10) alongside her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo.

The duo portrays Glinda and Elphaba in the eagerly awaited film adaptation of the beloved musical.

But upon announcing that Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell had won the Best Original Song Oscar for Barbie’s What Was I Made For?, many fans were left confused by Ariana’s apparent new accent.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), a person wrote: “Wtf happened to Ariana Grande???

Another X user commented: “Ariana Grande really got rid of her previous accent in favor of a 60s transatlantic accent.”

The transatlantic accent is a cultivated way of speaking that was popular among American and British elites, particularly in the early to mid-20th century, characterized by a blend of American and British pronunciation and intonation patterns.

Nevertheless, prior to her Oscars appearance, Grande openly discussed the transformations she had been undergoing.

Speaking on the Zach Sang Show on February 26, the 30-year-old singer-actress said the following about preparing for her role of Glinda: “I tried to use that to take lessons every single day while I was doing The Voice and get ready for these auditions.”

Ariana continued: “I trained every day with Nancy [Banks] and with Eric [Vetro] to transform my voice, even, like, my singing voice, everything about me. I had to deconstruct to prove to them I could handle taking on this other person.”

Nancy and Eric are vocal coaches who specialize in training singers and actors to improve their vocal techniques, including breathing, projection, tone, and diction.

The Thank U Next singer added that she had to “completely erase popstar Ari.”

“It’s even harder to believe someone as someone else when you’re so branded as one thing,” She explained.

Ariana further recalled: “I had to go all the way to strip that down, come into my callback with no makeup, my hair down. I looked like I was 11 years old.”

Ariana previously reflected on the challenges of shedding her popstar image

During the online talk show hosted by podcaster Zach Sang, the songstress also suggested that she had been unfairly targeted by the media.

“The thing is, we know this about the tabloids and about the media. Am I crazy? Don’t we know this?” she began. “We selectively remember that this is what the tabloids do to people, especially women, based on whether or not we like the person.”

When asked whether there was anything she wished people knew about her after the events of last year, Ariana replied, “Plenty.”

Last year, Ariana found herself in the headlines due to her seemingly problematic romance with her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater.

Their at-the-time rumored romance raised some eyebrows, as both the singer and Ethan were married when the filming for Wicked began.

The Princess of Wales just acknowledged altering a photo of herself and her children for Mother’s Day, offering a personal apology for any misunderstanding following allegations of digital manipulation.

Something has definitely been amiss with the British royal family, especially since Kate Middleton completely vanished from the public eye in January. The princess’ alleged disappearance was fueled by new controversy surrounding a recent photo released by Kensington Palace. The scrutinized image went on to prompt reputable news agencies to retract it due to suspicions of manipulation, intensifying conspiracy theories.

On Sunday (March 10), the palace, where Prince William and Kate have resided since 2017, released a photo for Mother’s Day in the UK that featured the Princess of Wales seemingly sitting in a chair while smiling at the camera as her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis stood around her.

The photo was allegedly taken by “The Prince of Wales” at the family’s home in Windsor, according to the palace, as per the family’s official social media pages, including Instagram.

It didn’t take long before people voiced concerns regarding potential editing or AI-generated alterations to the picture.

In fact, the controversial picture prompted news agencies globally, such as the Associated Press (AP), Getty Images, Reuters, and the Agence France-Presse (AFP), to withdraw the image from their archives due to concerns about photo manipulation.

The AP issued a “kill notification” for anyone using the photo, writing in an alert to journalists that after “closer inspection, it appear[ed] that the source [had] manipulated the image. No replacement photo will be sent,” as per an X post (formerly known as Twitter), shared by TV NEWS Royal Editor Chris Ship.

A kill notification is a term used in journalism to indicate the withdrawal or cancellation of a news item or media content, often due to concerns regarding accuracy, ethics, or legal issues.

Moreover, an AP spokesperson released a statement to The Telegraph, saying: “The photo shows an inconsistency in the alignment of Princess Charlotte’s left hand.”

Others have also noted inconsistencies in the alignment of the sweater pattern on Prince Louis’ shoulder, as well as a jagged white line in the background near his knee, People reported.

“No comment from Kensington Palace tonight after at least 3 international picture agencies refuse to distribute this morning’s photo of Kate and her children,” Chris wrote on X.

The controversy surrounding the Mother’s Day photo coincides with inquiries into Princess Kate’s withdrawal from public view following her scheduled abdominal surgery due to an undisclosed medical condition in January.

The 42-year-old mother-of-three was subsequently hospitalized at The London Clinic, which resulted in the postponement of several of her public engagements.

Royal commentator Peter Hunt told Metro: “This is damaging for the royals.

“They knew there would be intense interest in any picture they released of Kate.

“Their challenge is that people will now question whether they can be trusted and believed when they next issue a health update.”

For Daniela Relph, a royal correspondent for the BBC, the palace’s bid to hush speculation about Kate’s wellbeing with the doctored photo has backfired.

She said that the “overzealous editing of the picture to get it ready for publication has actually cast doubt on its authenticity.”

Daniela continued: “The implication here is not that the entire photo is a fake or that the Princess of Wales is more unwell than she appears in the image.

“That seems unlikely and would be a very high-risk strategy from the Kensington Palace team.”

Upon calling Kensington Palace’s press office to inquire about the picture, Bored Panda was redirected to an email address.

On Monday (March 11), in a rare personal post on X, signed “C” to denote it was from Catherine (Kate), the princess admitted: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.

“I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.

“I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C”

Meanwhile, a palace source told The Mirror: “The Princess has shared a statement on social media.

“This was an amateur family photograph taken by the Prince of Wales.

“Their Royal Highnesses wanted to offer an informal picture of the family together for Mother’s Day.

“The Princess made minor adjustments as she shared in her statement on social media. The Wales family spent Mother’s Day together and had a wonderful day.”

“The plot thickens,” a reader commented
